    Prayer Quilts—The quilts placed on the altar today are for Robert Drum and a military quilt. The quilts
    to the left of the altar were placed on the altar last week. The quilts to the right are on the altar for the
    first time. Please say a prayer and tie a knot for this individual and the military.

    Trustee’s Meeting—The Trustees will meet this evening at 6:30 p.m.

    Building Fund News—This week our church made a payment of $41,500 to SunTrust toward our loan
    for the Fellowship Building. This payment leaves a balance of $75,015.38 in the Building Fund. The
    balance of our loan is $783,169.32.

    Children's Choir is meeting on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., in the Sunday School classroom K-
    2, to prepare a hymn for Palm Sunday, March 28th, for both services. We are also learning to ring the
    bells. So come join us! Thanks, Mrs. Kat.

    Bishop Larry M. Goodpaster, WNCC Resident Bishop will address local church leaders in our Lake
    Norman District on Thursday, March 25th, Huntersville UMC, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting is open to
    everyone. General topics to be covered by Bishop Goodpaster will include: “The Power of 3” Goals,
    Apportionments and Fiscal Responsibility, Mission and the Vision of the Church. It will be followed by a
    Q & A session (time permitting).

    Jesus in the Passover will be observed on April 1st, at 6:30 p.m. In order to participate, you will need
    reservations. The sheet for reservations is located on the table in the narthex. This is a family event.
    Families will be seated together. Reservations are required because of the seating arrangements and
    food preparation. Reservations need to be made no later than March 24th.

    Cookbook—The UMW is working on a new church cookbook. New Covenant has some fabulous cooks
    and we need your recipes. Please place your recipes in the collection box in the narthex. If you have
    any questions, please contact Wanda Parker.

    31 Gifts Party—On Saturday, March 27th, at 2:30 p.m., Shannon Reavis will be hosting a “31 Gifts”
    party. To check out their products and catalogs, go to http://www.thirtyonegifts.com/. This is a Christian
    organization. Everyone is invited.

    Nursery Helpers Needed—We can always use more nursery workers to help out on Sunday mornings,
    both services. If you would like to serve our young children, please see Angie Bass or email her at
    angie@newcovenantumc.org.

    Yard Sale—We are organizing a yard sale to be held on April 17th, and would greatly appreciate
    donations of gently used items! All proceeds will be used to help start the New Covenant Preschool,
    opening September 2010. Contact Amy Overbay for more information.

    Would you like to play cornhole? If you are interested in playing on a church cornhole league, there is a
    sign up sheet in the narthex. Please see Mike Stroup for details and questions.

    Easter Egg Hunt—Our Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. Bring a basket and
    a friend. We will have a story time and a fun Easter Egg Hunt for ages toddler—5th grade. We will need
    lots of individually wrapped candies to stuff eggs. There will be a donation box in the narthex. We will
    have an egg stuffing party on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:15 p.m. Or, you may take home some eggs
    to stuff. Please see Melissa Patterson for eggs.

    Youth—There will be a required parents’ meeting on Sunday, April 18th, at 5:45 p.m., for any Sr. High
    youth who want to go to Carolina Cross Connection June 13th-18th. We will be discussing several very
    important topics, so please make this a priority. Refreshments will be served. If you wish to bring all or a
    portion of your child’s camp fee of $100, make checks payable to New Covenant UMC “Carolina Cross”
    in the memo. Remember: the entire amount is due by May 31st.

    On Monday, April 26th, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a meeting of all youth parents (Jr. & Sr. High), youth
    (active or inactive), youth council members, and interested adults to discuss our youth program. If you
    have any questions, please see Teresa.

    Would you help a kid learn to be Jesus to a hurting world? Sponsor a youth missionary. This is an
    opportunity to help a young person learn to give of him/herself to the Lord. Can you help? See Teresa

    We need your empty medicine bottles. Betty Miller is collecting empty medicine bottles for Samaritan’s
    Purse. Please place these in the church office. Thank you for your participation!

    We need your aluminum cans!—We are collecting aluminum cans. Proceeds will go to the Youth Fund.
    There will be a blue barrel located in the corner of the parking lot near the FLC. This is a great way to
    raise money for our Youth Fund, so please bring us your aluminum cans. Thanks!!!!!!!

    Crafts & Vendor Holiday Shopping Extravaganza—The UMW of New Covenant will host a Crafts &
    Vendor Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday, November 13, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 pm.
    in the Family Life Center. This is an excellent opportunity for folks to showcase their fine merchandise
    by renting an 8X8 space with a table or tables & 2 chairs in our FLC for $40.00 per space. We will have
    22 spaces for rent with 6 of those spaces having electrical outlets. We are requesting our vendors to
    provide a photo of their crafts or products with their application form to use in the advertising. We will
    also ask each vendor to donate an item in the medium price range or upward for our Silent Auction with
    the item being indicative of the merchandise they are selling. The UMW will provide breakfast items,
    lunch items, bake sale and snacks available for purchase at reasonable prices during the event. All
    proceeds from the event (vendor table rentals, silent auctions and food sales) will be for our Building
    Fund. The Exhibitor (vendor) Agreement Application forms will be available in the narthex and church
    office. Mark your calendars now. If you know of someone that would be interested in this great event,
    please let us know. The UMW will also need the help of a lot of our friends and church family to make
    this successful, so be thinking about how you would like to participate and we will have a sign up sheet
    later on for volunteers.
