Confirmation Sunday

Sunday, April 4, 2004, marked a very special
day in the life of 3 of the young people at our
church. Jayson, Haley, and Megan were all
confirmed as full members of the United
Methodist Church during a special portion of
our Palm Sunday worship.

The confirmands went through an intensive
5-week preparation for Confirmation. They each
picked mentors from within the church
congregation that attended Confirmation Classes
with them, and have been fulfilling the call made
in the Old Testament:
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength. These
commandments that I give you today are to be upon your
hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them
when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up. (Deut. 6: 5-7)

As part of their final preparation for Confirmation,
all the confirmands, their families, and their
mentors came together for a special pizza dinner
the day before Palm Sunday.

Tears of joy were shed, smiles
were shared, and the entire
congregation of New Covenant
is happy to welcome Haley,
Jayson, and Megan as full
members of Christ's body and
this congregation.
